Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain WordPress websites: Customizing themes, creating plugins, and ensuring the overall functionality and user experience.
- Write clean and well-documented PHP code: Ensuring code is efficient, readable, and properly documented for easy maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot and debug websites and applications: Identifying and resolving issues or bugs in websites or applications by troubleshooting problems and fixing code errors.
- Collaborate with designers and developers: Working closely with designers to understand their vision and collaborating with other developers to solve technical challenges.
- Optimize website performance and speed: Implementing strategies like caching, minimizing HTTP requests, and optimizing database queries to improve website loading times.
- Ensure website security and data protection: Implementing security measures to protect websites from hacking, data breaches, and malware attacks.
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices: Keeping up-to-date with the latest WordPress features, PHP frameworks (mainly Laravel), security updates, and optimization techniques.
- Provide technical support and guidance: Assisting clients or end-users with technical issues, answering queries, and providing recommendations for website improvements.
- Test and ensure website quality: Conduct thorough testing, including functional and compatibility testing, to identify and fix any issues before launching a website.
- Use version control and collaborate with other developers: Utilizing version control tools like Git for managing code changes and collaborating efficiently with other developers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in web development, computer science, or similar.
- 2+ years of good PHP programming expertise, mostly with WordPress and Laravel in mind.
- proficiency with front-end technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- familiarity with mobile-friendly development and responsive design ideas.
- solid understanding of database optimization and MySQL databases.
- familiarity with code deployment procedures and version control systems (such as Git).
- Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
